Scope, evidence, and the unknowns.
The definition. Customers pay for work, expertise, transactions, access or outcomes. Meaningful product-and-service businesses are hybrids. Self-serve software is separately tagged; managed IT can qualify as a service.
The universe. The supplied Koyfin CSV contains 1,934 unique tickers, dated September 30, 2026. Input prices and financial fields are snapshots, not live quotes. Capex units and scale were unspecified.
The evidence. All companies have primary-source documents, including SEC and issuer-hosted FDIC filings. Business and revenue passages were retrieved using the industry toolkit; selected entity changes received additional quarterly or event-filings checks.
The limits. 1,465 records carry review flags. Only four service-revenue percentages passed conservative checks; “Unknown” means unvalidated, not zero. Peer lists are empty where supporting evidence was absent. This is not an exhaustive manual review or a ranking of investments.
